I used to enjoy page one rankings until this year without back links. I now know I need quality backlinks to regain my page rankings in today's Search Engines. If you would like to link to my site www.prepare4disaster.com please contact me by PM here, or through the website. I provide quality, low cost disaster and survival kits and supplies with lots of free information. I still have two pages one on hurricane survival tips and one on tornado survival tips that still enjoy page one status. Thank you!

Honestly I find it very hard to believe that you had #1 on Google without a single IBL. Unless of course the keyword had 20-30 results and highly noncompetitive

The keyword phrase I ranked number one on G and three on Y was "survival kits", and "disaster preparedness" ranked two on G and six on Y. I was one of three websites in late 2002 and early 2003 that were selling these products and I was the only one with the extensive amount of info pages available for free to the public. I had sponsor ads also running on Overture at that time(before Y bought them) and was only paying .35 a click for the number one or two spot in sponsor ads as well. When I stopped using Overture after Y bought them, I was paying an average of $4.00 per click.
By then everybody and his brother started selling survival kits and I got distracted by a messy divorce and stopped advertising and updating content and next thing I knew the whole search engine gambit had changed and was back on page 26. If you don't believe that there is nothing I can say otherwise to convince you and you are entitled to your opinion. |

Nonreciprocal links are better. The question becomes how do you generate content which will get linked. From there, you develop an effective proposal which gets others to link to you.
This little-known (or well-known, little tried) technique is called 'content-based.' And yes, I've seen the tips section. You probably have a good background for positioning yourself as an expert on this topic -- with much needed expertise. Go beyond the regurgitation "me-too" content. Try giving yourself some credit and work on content-based strategies for generating nonreciprocal links -- they work better. |

Thanks DCrux!
Yeah, I know one-sided in would be better than reciprocating, unfortunately, very few people will give something for nothing any more. I've had to fight too many battles over domain jumping, advertising blitzes utilizing my domain name in their ads, and flat duplicate websites capitalizing on my success. I just found two web sites using the name prepare4emergency.com and prepared4emergency.com that are blatant name rips from my site. I've spent the last 7 months and thousands of dollars to SEO's and ad campaigns to get back to a PR3 on G. But you're right it's the quality of the link that makes a real difference and that only works if the content is right. Take care and thanks for rebuilding confidence. |
