I hate to be negative, but I must agree with LLFitness_Derek ... your site has some issues to be cleared up before trying to sell links.

You only have ONE page indexed in Google and that is your home page. It could have something to do with the 198 code errors to include no doctype or encoding that is preventing the bots from indexing your site.

Many of your pages are dead links
http://www.potes.org/author/Jane%Austen - which when viewed by manually removing the % - the pages are blank.

Rather than continue to depict the site's failings, I would simply suggest that you clean it up and then Submit Your Site for Review

Good Luck and Happy Ranking!

Default Flumoxed by page rank

It could be an interesting read if the internal navigation wasn't completely shot through. How did this site get a page rank of 6?

That's a very good question dburbon - I could make several guesses, but I'm afraid to actually know. However, I would guess that it will not be there come Oct/Nov during the next update unless someone is seeing something different in Google than I am - nil for links pointing to the site. The sites actually been online for a few years according to whois, so this could be an "inherited" PR or one that was once justified, but no longer appears to be ... it could be capitalized upon, but not in its current state IMO.

Default Google Page Rank decay

wrmineo,

you mention inherited page rank. Is there some way of calculating page rank decay? Surely a site's page rank is dependent on the quality of IBL's at the time of an update. Or is there some sort of exponential smoothing going function?

The site genre definitely has potential, don't get discouraged, get determined.

Out of curiosity, was this a domain you bought that had previous content? Was this the original content and concept of the site?

I ask because it obviously had some serious links at one time to have enjoyed that PR level.

Get some content and links and you'll be up there again in no time. However, time is of the essence if you wish to attempt to maintain some of its PR value. Google now show zero links to the site which will degradate your PR this fall or whenever the next update is launched.

Once you get some content and the structure fixed, be sure to get some free critique and reviews from the WPW Peer Power. Also, when it's ready, let me know and I'll give you a link over at Heres1.com for the big whopping price of Free.

Good Luck and Happy Ranking!
