Arelis is not free
Arelis (axandra-link-popularity-tool) is not free, only the trial edition is.
Limitations in the trial edition: you can collect only 100 link partners, emails are sent to your own address and the links in your link directory point to a generic page (the original links will be restored when your purchase ARELIS)
The software costs about 100 Euros.

I like free
anything free is always good but most of those link exchanges tell you it's free at first then add charges for different memberships.

Link Machine has a free version. I've just started using it last week. Its the first link management script that I've ever used, so I don't have a comparison point exactly, but I did download the script from Online Marketing Today to take a quick look and Link Machine seemed a much friendlier setup to me. Still, they're both free!
Here's the link:

Cynical about the usefulness of linkxchanges
Thank you for the free links and also the link to link machine.
however, as i have been resaerching on the usefulness of links pointing to one's site, the 1 scary point that i have found out is that irrelevant links only tend to do more harm than good especially in the long run.
So than how can these linking softwares be of any constructive help? the question arises because of the higher proportion of newbies( like me) and amateurs using xchange links. that means ultimately, all i get is a pointer from a couple of thousands of useless sites--- which is worse than ever.
please guide me if i am wrong?

I am cautious about anything too automated like some of these programs. Our website receives many reciprocal link requests from automated services and I just delete them. I like link partners to take the time to visit our website.
When I am looking for new link partners I use this simple tool on our website:

I have to agree with abuthepooh about his point concerning the type of inbound linking a program generates. If inbound links make the difference with how search engines view our sites, then is there any type of program that can specify quality inbound linking partners, rather than the bulk load of available link partners?
I've tried Arelis, and the one feature I enjoy is that people can look for competitors inbound links.

hi
thanks for the support 'netfrugal'.
what i am doing at this moment is submitting my link to the 100's of directories found on the web.
but i am still pessimistic about the approach as most of the directories get maybe 5-10 visitors per day. so i am just asking for help from ppl who are losers themselves.
http://www.hairclinic.blogspot.com/
however i still do it in the hope that atleast 10% of the links may feature on google ( although i have not been indexed yet, but thinking long term).

links from content pages
www.linkwizard.net allows you to place your link directly on relevant content html page.
And you do not need to e-mail webmaster and wait for answer.

Sounds awful! *I* will decide what is relevant to my site, and not some software, no matter how clever it is. It's just too complex, and too risky.
Not only do you need to check that the link is relevant, you also need to check that the incoming link can be seen by search engines, and I find many which cannot.

You are wrong.
Of course you decide on which page you wish to place your link. Software just give you large database of content pages. You choose the page and link text yourself, send request to webmaster and after approval it appears on his page automatically. Software is automatic but does not look automatic for search engines cause all content pages are in html format.

Reciprocal linking software
I've been using Arelis for about 2 months now and it's working great. It is full featured and well-rounded.
My best comment about Arelis:
It helps me develop an entire linking universe for my clients. In other words, it helps identify every potential / relevant linking partner for my clients. It helps me go into a particular industry and develop action items for acquiring "all" the potential linking partners for specific categories. Perhaps most importantly it gives me a strong mental model for visioning all the players relevant to my clients industry / vertical market.
The worst comment about Arelis:
It's a bit pricey. I believe it's worth the price.
Bottom line: Buy it if you're serious about SEM. But remember, sending out a few hundred targeted postcards to potential linking partners with a personal note is also very strong kung-fu.
General Software Purchasing Guidelines - >> Define your goals for the software and make sure your hardware can handle.
>> Read some online reviews to be sure any advertised features aren't too difficult or too buggy to use.
>> Try a few trial versions of various packages before making a purchasing decision.

three way links
Does anyone know services or programs for three way linking?
Does three or four way linking better than reciprocal linking?

Arelis for Link Exchange
I've also been using Arelis for my websites for quite some time now. It has some very good features and i'm happy with it. Although i havent tried any of the other link exchange softwares out there, Arelis works perfect for me!
