Hey folks. I'm an out-of-work in CA. Just built a hosting directory website. It's a shameless all affiliate site, but can't seem to get any traffic. I just read comment on using RSS and think I'll look into it. Looking for tips for site promotion if anyone has any. If anyone needs any db or coldfusion advice, help - let me know.

In my opinion, all PPCs are wayyyy too expensive for the results that they really deliver.
Overture is a nightmare, but it is true that if you rank on their first 3 positions, all the other smaller engines will pick you up, so it's good to improve your rankings, but it is going to cost you big! (those small engines won't pick you up for free, they get paid by Overture for it, so you'll be paying for it in the grand scheme of things).
I've tried Google also and they are more modestly priced, with better results, but still not-worth-my-hard-earned-penny.

Your best bet: trade links with other sites, if you can, with high PR sites, which will eventually push you to the top in Google.
Other than that, just be patient. Very patient...
