Default Internet Business Advertising in Philadelphia

Hello WebPro community members!

I'm new to this forum format. I host a site that, as of now, simply lists businesses in the Philadelphia, PA area (including the surrounding counties and across the river into Southern New Jersey. The website is:

http://www.nativeflair.com/Philadelphia.html

There are about eight other varieties for locals to view, with idications of local interest (i.e. BucksCounty.html, NewJersey.html, etc.). I also have links to my Native American heritage, which has received quite a lot of national attention.

I have done this project over a period of about two and a half years, obtaining listings from every available source I could get my grubby little hands on. When time and finances permitted, I called some of the listings to verify their current status and updated (and still update as I get new information).

What I'm looking for are those businesses (and every other type I can possibly get to do so) to advertise on my site, linking their listings to either web pages they may have existing already, or to develop a simple web page for their listing to be linked to. However, Philadelphia seems to be locked into a small-minded (definitely small-town minded) existance of mouth-to-mouth, or the ever popular newspaper or Yellow Pages type of advertising.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can get businesses to advertise on my site (without reverting to obnoxious, lewd, crude or otherwise upleasant methods)? Please keep in mind that I am on a shoestring budget (which is probably what has kept me relatively unknown up until now).

Thanks,

Ralph Ianuzzi
