Default 10,000 customers in 12 months

Hello everyone.....I am the Cable Guy. ShowMeCables has been around for 10 years and we have been on the web for 16 months. Our site www.showmecables.com sells cables and connectors to the video, voice, data and computer industries.

We are very excited about having over 10,000 new customers buy from us in the past 12 months.

We think we are just scratching the surface of this channel and are really excited about the future. We are in St. Louis Missouri.

We believe in a few basic things about e-commerce....

1:either be in it or get out! If you truly want to be successful e-tailing you must be very serious and work your tail off.

2: E-commerce is not brick and mortar....there is no window-shopping. You either advertise your store or you might as well not be in the business.

3: make your site as easy to use as possible

4: be the low cost provider....it is very hard to build relationships on the web. Unless you have a better mousetrap, you better be priced competitively. It takes only a few clicks, not a ride in the car, to check your price

5: Answer your phone and be an expert on your products

6: Don't be Wall-Mart. It works for them because people go to the store to shop. People on the net are looking for specific items.....niche marketing is our game.

Good luck to all. Look forward to communicating with you in the future.

Hi CableGuy,

I saw your movie and loved it! Oh wait, maybe that wasn't you...

Anyway, great to have you here and welcome to WPW!

Best wishes to your site, and have fun in the discussions.

Default Welcome

I have found that being more specific with the your market "niche" has improved my online conversion rates. I agree with alot of what you have said.

Default Marketing is everything

I named my first post 10,000 customers in 12 months. I actually had 10,000 customers, but I named it this way to encourage people to come and read my posting. It works, this post on this forum has the most views. This is a tip reagrding CPC with google and adwords. The challange is not getting people to click on your expebnsive click....but to make sure people that are not buying to NOT click on your link.

Good Luck, let's hope this holiday seasonm brings in lots of cash$$$$

That's good advice you've given. As you say, niche marketing is the way to go, I'm in a very small niche (very little on it in spanish language pages) and hope to be able to capitalize on it.
