Msn im spam

I am now getting increasing amounts of spam MSN Instant Messenger messages.

These are coming from people I do not know, who are not on my list of contacts and with whom I have never made contact.

I have made all required adjustments in MSN admin to try to stop this (such as only accept from people I know etc.)

But still is comes....

Does anyone know any other ways of stopping it (or how they manage to send it, which might give clues to stopping it)

Thanks - as per my original post I have done everything in settings already, to no avail. Could this be a virus or ??

Could be a virus of some sort that overrides your settings. Good rule of thumb when things start acting strange is to do a virus scan or 6. Also do a registry sweep. You can do them free online. Of course the problem being that to fix problems you have to pay for it. This is a good registry checker
