Default Best anti virus software for Windows 7
I have installed Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate on my Laptop and i don't have a good anti virus software installed. So is there any one who can suggest me an anti virus software that is compatible with this version of windows.

herd good things about bitdefender, i my self installed windows 7 over the weekend and am using AVG at the moment works fine no problems. is windows 7 more secure in general anyway ? compared with xp and vista

I would prefer Kaspersky. It is simply the best. Moreover it uses very less resources from your PC.

You can try Norton AntiVirus 2009 or Avast! AntiVirus Home

I'd go with Kapersky. Right now they have a free Beta version available for Windows 7 users.

Personally, I have been using Nod32 anti-virus for several years now. I am very happy with it. You can get a trial version to test out first.

This is a good news for Kaspersky users. They can get it for free by installing Windows 7.
By the way, wige, can you tell us your experience with Windows 7.
I'm well satisfied with Win XP SP2, Is it appreciable to upgrade the OS to windows 7?

Gone are the days when Norton used to dominate the AV market.
Now there are more research labs in this niche.

As mentioned before Kaspersky is prolly the best. There is also a nice virus scan called ad-aware by Lavasoft. They are a good back-up.
