Put the following in your web borwser (FF or Opera) and hit return:
about:config
And in Opera:
1. On the Tools menu: Quick preferences: F12
2. On the Tools menu: Preferences: CTRL + F12 Go to the advanced folder.
On the advanced folder the interesting menus are:
1. Cookies
2. Security.
3. Networks (Proxy servers etc.)
Example why you have to use
about:config
Hit F12 + Enable proxy server.
That will not be checked unless you set the appropriate settings on the about:config page.
