ghost in the machine...again - help needed

something is terribly wrong with my pc. you'll notice that i am typing in all lower case letters. this is what started the problem - i think my pc has been hijacked. it totally has a mind of it's own.

i was trying to answer an email in my yahoo box this morning. when i hit the shift key the page started refreshing on it's own at the rate of every 4 seconds. all the text was gone and then i saw the volume control going down incrementally without even touching it. all of a sudden the letter x and the letter c just started appearing in the body of the now blank email...i hadn't touched a key.

i have performed every scan imaginable and they've all come up clean. does anyone have any idea how and why this thing is happening. i am completely freaked out and can't use the caps lock or shift key or it will start all over again. please help - exclamation point. this is not a joke.

Almost sounds like a keyboard issue more than a security/ hijacking issue.

Do you have a wireless keyboard? Have you cleaned out the keyboard lately? (Spayed it out w/ air)

Wenwilder, thanks for your reply. Keyboard is wired and I clean it regularly. Today, it seems to be working as usual; I'm not sure what happened but it was really weird and creepy.
I've got a lot of security on the network, none of the other pc's were affected.
I've ended up calling a tech to take a look at it just in case there's been a breach in security.
It is truly the stragest thing that has ever happened to me.
