hi i have a client who wants to get online but they are so fanaticaly scared that they will get a virus or someone will hack their computer they want to buy a brand new computer just for and only for accessing the internet, i have tried to explain to them that with a good firewall properly configured and good antivirus software that is kept up to date and a little common sence that they have no need to go to such extreams but i don't seem to be getting through.
does anyone have any suggestions here before i build the machine for them, or should i stop waisting my breath now and save on my physic bills later ? |

they're prolly the same type of person who stocked up on 3months supply of food, bought an overly expensive generator and liquidated all their assets for the Y2K scare.
Let them be paranoid. You still get paid. New people to the internet ARE the most dangerous. If they haven't been online before they should spend hundreds of dollars on firewall's, anti-virus and what not. Teach them how to use the internet CORRECTLY and you shouldn't have any problems. Set them up with WinXP and don't give them admin rights. Show them how to access the admin when they need to install apps.. better yet. get them a MAC
