It's ok. It's still buggy and its rendering of fonts is awful. Otherwise not remarkable. It has a Mac feel to it which isn't as awesome as Apple likes to think. I see no reason to use it has my primary browser.

But don't you think it would be worth using it for browser compatibility checking?

But do the pages render on Windows exactly the way it does on a Mac? Only if it does this would it be useful for testing.

That's about all it would be used for. Just like Opera.

Re: Apple Safari Browser is now for windows
Until it shows up on my stats as safari/windows I'll keep testing safari on my test Mac.
I haven't tried it yet on windows, but I do like it on mac, however unless there's something I missed (only use the mac for testing) it doesn't have tabbed browsing, which I now find indispensible.

Re: Apple Safari Browser is now for windows
Out of curiosity and since they just updated it with some bugfixes, I tried it on both my windoze machines, the XP and the 2k. It supposedly isn't made to work on win2k but it does, however, it is not as lightning fast as it is on the XP machine. And it is fast.
I checked rendering against safari on my Mac on sites I knew had problems with Safari (not mine, which is why I got the test mac!) and the problems seem to be duplicated so it's possible that Safari on windoze might work for layout testing in a pinch, but if you're in webdev a separate machine is really recommended since colors and other stuff render very differently on the Mac, and contrast is harder to achieve. Safari on windows renders color the same way other programs on windows do.
