Default SPAM & landing pages

We have a small hosting company with around 1500 accts on 9 dedicated servers, in 3 different DC's. We have a very tough SPAM policy, and actually help our customers develop good opt in mailing lists to use for email marketing. Recently though, we picked up a large web design and hosting acct, that involves around 20 different domain names..... a dozen web sites and a couple hundred landing pages.
This large account is having a third party send out millions of SPAM emails each day, each one directing the recipient to one of many landing pages hosted on our servers.

I am concerned, that, altho the SPAM is sent thru an entirely different network, the landing pages and domain contact emails are all on our boxes...

Is this going to cause problems for us... We have allowed it over the last 2 weeks and not one peep from anyone, but I am worried nonetheless...

Are my worries justified? Please comment

Be very WORRIED!

I'm really surprized that you haven't received complaints or found that your IP(s) have been blacklisted already.

You must be one of the few web hosts in the world who knows one of their customers is massively SPAMMING, thereby putting ALL your other clients at risk, as well as your own operation and letting them continue doing it...

Seriously, ditch this client!

yes, but he isnt spamming thru our servers... he is using another companys servers to do this...only the landing pages are hosted on our servers. for instance... if I sent out a zillion spam emails sending people to my competitors home page, that wouldnt get his website banned... so I am thinking this is the same thing. All I have to tell him to do is not use a domain email that is hosted on our servers as a contact email...
When SPAM is reported, isnt the originating Ip the one taking the risk of getting banned?

It's always been my experience (10 years online) that not only is the person sending the SPAM going to be blacklisted, the linked domains and hosting company of those domains can also be.

You might want to do some checking to see if this is already happening: http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/index.lasso

Example of SPAMMERS blocked: http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/latest.lasso

You might also want to make use of this tool to check that everything is ok with your doamins etc: http://www.dnsstuff.com
