EV SSL and a green address bar, is this really going to help

I don't know how many people have heard about the new SSL technology. I honestly don't think it is going to solve our online problems, if SSL didn't work, then what makes EV SSL so special? Is EV SSL the answer to our Internet Fraud problems?
