Youtube and Warner Music came to a huge agreement to allow Warner's music to be used in user videos uploaded to the site, pending WMG's approval of course.
YouTube has developed a technology that scans all the videos in search of copyrighted content and reports it back for review.
That's the jist of it.
But what annoys me to death is the four page press releases you have to sift through to get those two paragraphs.
I'm no portrait of brevity...but corporate speak is getting out of hand. If you want your company covered in the media, write a press release that's useful, not salesy, straightforward and interesting...but above all, it needs to make sense on the first reading and get the writer's attention from the first sentence.
Don't waste that first sentence with "MyCompany.com Inc., the world's leader in mycompany type companies for the 21st century and beyond for all seven continents and the seven seas, announced today a first of its kind partnership with YourCompany Corp. that will transform the world of ourcompanies, leveraging actionable best practices for ubiquitous consumption of widgets that will benefit each and every end-user."
Blech.
