Default AOL Intel TV and a 10-foot experience

So AOL and Intel are getting together to deliver on-demand web video to the TV via Intel's Viiv-based PCs.

Sounds pretty interesting, but I'm still wondering what a "10-foot service" is.

In the press release, there was also the "10-foot experience" mentioned twice . Have I missed something? Or is this just a stupid adjective they forgot to describe?

Sounds like an ugly guy's pick-up line: "hey there, sugar, I got a 10-foot experience for you."

Default

Stupid adjective, it seems.

It seems to be either Intel's or AOL's odd way of describing the traditional television viewing experience... The full terminology that the press release uses is the "ten foot living room television viewing experience in the home", which they then differentiate from viewing media on a computer or portable device.

Not sure how they came up with the term, but it seems to mean TV and traditional video devices such as VHS and DVD that are connected thereto.[/i]
