Several days before the New Year a friend received an email solicitation from Dale Woodland with an offer to good to be true. He would receive about 8 programs that typically cost $800 for only $97. He ordered immediately.

Guess what? To date he has not received anything but an email pointing him to a protected page that doesn't open... just gives errors.

He has sent about a dozen emails with no response.

Has anyone else had a similar problem or problems with this company? They market programs like WebLockPro, LifetimeWebHosting, WebArmyKnife, BizAutomator?

I do not know what company you are referring to. You did not mention it. I don't know anyone by the name of Dale Woodland either.

If anyone gets mail that has an offer that sounds too good to be true. Guess what? It is a ripoff right from word one.

Not knowing the particulars of the mail you mentioned, it probably contained a link to some fly-by-night site that just takes your credit card information and runs. If you can get the link from the mail and post it here, I could (or someone else) would probably be able to tell you more about this Mr. Woodland. Also the link of the protected page. Any info you can provide would help.

Right now, I would be more worried about the credit card number that he just gave out. My advice is to have him go to the bank and run a check on it ASAP. Also, I advise that you tell your friend to cancel the transaction for this purchase -- if possible.

If they paid by credit card, I think you will find that most credit card providers give you at least a 30 day dispute period. Tell your friend to cancel the transaction if it hasnt gone through (and cancel further requests on the card from them). If the transaction has already gone through, I would still contact the credit provider if its within the 30days.

Many of the banks here are now starting to cover their rear ends with these kinds of transactions. I have noticed that my bank now rings me prior to processing any overseas transactions. At the time they ring they ask if I have recieved goods/services for the transaction yet, so I think even tho they process it, they must keep note of details of transaction maybe.

I concur with Ronnie, if you have any info on the site, business or transaction, post them here. Someone might be able to find something you cant.
