Default Huge Hosting Merger

iPower.com and iPowerweb.com have merged, making them a huge hosting company. iPower boosts 200,000+ sites hosted and iPowerweb, which I have used for years, has 400,000+ sites hosted.

Combined that makes 600,000+ site hosted. iPowerweb will become iPower shortly.

This all stems from a recent raiding of iPowerweb's tech support people by iPower. I know, I had an issue with a site, and found the tech support person knew less about what was going on than I did. In fact, I think Adamweb had some issues with them as well.

I called my sales contact at the time, and he clued me in on the loss of personnel. So, now iPower has acquired iPowerweb's customer base too!

This should make some waves in the hosting world!

me thinks NOT. i have been slowly moving my clients over to a more private hosting company as the technical "support" reeks at ipower. they really need to get their act together if they hope to retain their clients... btw, they still run their separate websites...

Just to clarify: it wasn't really me that had the issues, but my girlfriend's father. I stepped in because he's not really a tech-savvy guy, but he knew something was horribly, horribly wrong.

Took about 2 weeks to get the whole thing resolved, too.
