It's a bit hard to comment as we're not sure what the project was for.

But if you had a contract that had what the client requests in your posts included, then they could be entitled to ask for it.

It is difficult to give you any particular advice on the information provided. I recon Ten seconds sounds a reasonable request for the amount of time for a query to process, I would prefer a shorter time if poss.

Some companies have a policy of claiming a deficiency in your work when you ask for a final payment, as they know it is more trouble than it is worth to collect the payment.

If it is in the contract, you do it. If it is not, and they put conditions on final payment that lay outside the scope of the contract, you pull the site offline and hold it until they pay the final payment. Until they pay your full fee and sign off on the contract, all the work still belongs to you.

If they don't want to do that, then you have them sign a completion clause saying they are releasing you from the project. They get what they have at this point and you walk away. That way they can't accuse you of not fulfilling the contract.
