Default English to Spanish

I have been asked by a couple of people to translate an English web site to a Spanish web site.
Any idea how much to charge. I was thinking by the page but every page is different, every site is different. By the word seems like a lot of work to figure up a price. Any ideas.

Default Foreign translation costing

Hi Janeth,

I'm just about to start work on three foreign language versions of an English site (French, German and Spanish). My client has arranged for each page to be translated by an independent translation agency. As far as I'm aware, their costings are based around the 'word count' per page. However if the same material appears on every page, i.e, a footer links section, then this can be separately costed, and charged as a 'one-off'.

Hope that helps

Paul

Yes, usually it's per word.

We used to deal with a company that charged $1500US / 10,000 words
