Default Talk of Merger Gets Serious

The swirling wind of speculation of a possible merger has picked up steam this week. Which is the most feasible scenario? What's in it for the purchasee?

These questions and more are addressed in Jason's article. Feel free to leave your commentary and suggestions, including which merger you think would be most mutually beneficial.

I think it would be most beneficial if Microsoft purchased Yahoo. I rank well with Google and MSN, but Yahoo has been slow as sh** to rank our site!
What's going on?

I feel the same as Chris.

My site is doing fine with other except Yahoo. They would be better off merging with MSN.

Being the "best" means (in my opinion) "being the best." I guess that's why Google is taking market share all the time. It's nice to know if you follow "best business practices," you're rewarded with placement. If I was a "black hat" marketer, I could understand why I would be penalized, but we've tried to do everything possible to establish ourselves as a great resource for soy candles. So forgive me if I'm impatient, but I don't understand. If anyone has any info on ranking in Yahoo, let me know! By the way (with all respect,) we run a Yahoo Store and would recommend their system to anyone. But as far as ranking/marketing... what? We're also planning to leave the "Got Marketing"/Campaigner within the next week. Many other email marketing companies exist with (in my opinion,) many better features!
thanks,
Chris

Default "The Merge"

Microsoft and Yahoo would make sense. Although the addition of AOL for Microsoft would also be appealing as the 2 main players for SE traffic is Google then Yahoo.

Speaking of Yahoo, I noticed that a few people mentioned they had success with Google but not Yahoo. I find my situation to be quite the opposite with my one site especially: www.cleancreditonline.com. I would be more than willing to collaberate with one or more individuals about "swapping" SEO methods used to obtain SE positioning and traffic. If interested please send an email to me at tlj_maxx(at)yahoo.com

Default Who will they be?

Like so many other sites on the web search engines come and go all the time. The Big 3 really are interesting to watch and just who they partner with is entertaining to watch to say the least. I think you've got something here Jason that they'll be some form of a merger in the near future.

What I really wonder about though is just what name the new player will go under as a url?
