Default Elite Retreat Conference, Good Idea?

Not sure if you picked on this today:

Quote:
The four Internet marketing gurus founding the upcoming Elite Retreat conference (www.EliteRetreat.info) have announced a contest with a reward of one free ticket to the event, valued at $4850. The Elite Retreat will take place at the Marriott RiverCenter in San Antonio, Texas on December 18th and 19th. The conference is limited to thirty five hand-picked registrants, and is being organized by SEM expert Jeremy Schoemaker (Shoemoney.com), blogging expert Dave Taylor (Intuitive.com), SEO expert Aaron Wall (SEObook.com), and online communities / forums expert Lee Dodd (SprintUsers.com).
Their is also a blog where you can follow along or comment. Breakdown of each speaker from the blog:

Quote:
Jeremy (Shoemoney) Schoemaker: He knows SEM (Search Engine Marketing) better than anyone I know, branding, PPC / Arbitrage, publicity, buying / selling web real estate, and monetization.
Aaron Wall: He know SEO (Search Engine Optimization) better than anyone I know, content building, and keyword research.

Dave Taylor: He knows blogging better than anyone I know, networking, marketing, and general business.

Lee Dodd: I know a great deal about building online communities, monetization, buying / selling web real estate, and general marketing.
Sounds like a great idea as long as they limit "classrooms" to 30 or less. The smaller the better obviously. Just would hate for this solid idea to turn into a another conference. Maybe this is a short step to an actual SEO College some are looking for.

We are definitely limiting attendence to under 30 and we have no plans on growing this into some monster event with huge logistics. There are lots of splendid events like SES and The System. Our goal is to have an alternative to all of those. But better yet, why not attend and find out? :-)

I am thinking about it, price is a little steep.
