Default Verizon puts brakes on EVDO usage

Yeah, it's unlimited service, so long as you avoid rich media or web services while using it.

Yep. I read the fine print before I signed up because my company uses Skype to communicate. It's rare that I have to use my laptop with Skype, but when I absolutely have to and there's no wi-fi connection, I cringe. I can just see the service suspension e-mail showing up.

At nearly $80 a month (until my Cingular contract expires, I don't have a Verizon phone), it's robbery, but Verizon has the best coverage I could find. Still ridiculous, though.
