Recently, when researching a new article on search engine positioning and backend methods of getting indexed, I sent some email off to the search engines to review that article and provide correcting input. You might be surprised at what I found.
Angelin Tan one of the marketing people over at Overture replied with some interesting information about Overture, and some possible future plans.

While Overture will offer a Paid Inclusion product starting next month (this is actually the Inktomi technology, which we own through our parent company, Yahoo!), you completely leave out mention of paid search listings in your article. This is the core of Overture's business, and huge for the online marketing industry. Paid listings are those that are ranked the highest in search results, and are labeled "Sponsored Results" on many search engines. The model is based on a bidding system. The higher an advertiser bids on a keyword, the higher they are ranked in the Sponsored Results.

Just some insider news from our article research we thought might be useful to the WebProWorld readers. My appologies if this was listed in the wrong topic thread.
