Default Hosting concerns

I've had a site with a large domain hosting company for a few years now and want to move elsewhere.

We don't have a fancy site, only about 1,300 pages but I'm looking for a very secure server with little down time.

Does anyone have a recommendation? I've checked all the rankings but they are confusing and many sites that compare seem to be in it just to sell domain hosting.

Many thanks,

Jim

When asking for hosting recommendations it usually helps to state:
  • Location e.g. US, if it matters to you
  • Estimated bandwidth per month needed
  • Estimated disk space required
  • Anything special you need

www.webhostingtalk.com has reviews and discussion of various hosts along with offers so you might find something suitable there, or www.webhostchat.co.uk for UK.

Are you looking for shared hosting or your own dedicated server?

Having your own server will be potentially more secure as you are not sharing the server with other unknown users, but more costly.
