I am managing a project to provide a directory of services specific to one industry, but covering the whole of the EU.
I feel I have been badly let down by Webfusion, who first failed to tell me they don't offer Jet Database, and now, having converted everything to MS SQL, I discover they can't handle Bulgarian and Greek language text. 1. I would rather use Jet Database with MS Access. Do any of you know of any UK or EU host still offering that? 2. Can that host handle Bulgarian and Greek characters, and, for that matter, non English standard characters like s-hachek, c-hachek etc? 3. Can they supply and/or host .eu domains? There will be a number of further spin off sites from this. Thanks to everyone in advance. |

Hey Big Dish Man,
I take it you are a ASP programmer? Then you will need a Windows hosting account with ASP which we provide but not sure on your jet requirement, or Greek chars... I could arrange a for you to have access to one of our test accounts free of charge, just let me know. MS Access - you will find issues later when the site becomes busy (not really for a real business site). For the long term I would suggest you develop on MySQL and here is some detail on char sets: MySQL :: MySQL 5.0 Reference Manual :: 9.1.10 Column Character Set Conversion We sell and host .eu domains, but note that any webhost can host your .eu domains. All the best and better luck with your new host
