Default problem renewing domain

I seem to have a problem

Domain Name: SUMPY.COM
Registrar: WILD WEST DOMAINS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.wildwestdomains.com
Referral URL: Resell Domains, Start your online business, Wild West Domains, a GoDaddy.com company
Name Server: DNS1.HRNOC.NET
Name Server: DNS2.HRNOC.NET
Status: clientRenewProhibited
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Status: clientUpdateProhibited
Status: clientDeleteProhibited
Updated Date: 21-mar-2006
Creation Date: 14-mar-2006
Expiration Date: 14-mar-2008

I do not recall ever hearing the name wild west domains.

I have an email saying
To renew your domains now, go to:
https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/...781&isc=wwbb53

But I am unable to log in.

In the last week I have sent well over a dozen email and all I get is variations on explanations of how to log in.
I am getting a bit worried. . all I can get is messages saying they are unable to duplicate my log in problem .

I am in Australia.

I'll hazard a guess that you purchased the domain via a reseller of wild west domains, therefore you probably need to renew via the resellers control panel and hence why you can't login to wild west domains.

The payment page seems to be for Domain Names Express so I assume they are the reseller you used?

Anyway have you tried a different computer/browser to see if you can login or is it simply returning a message along the lines of incorrect user name or password?

Last person I know that had this sort of issue ended up getting the domain released and transferred it to GoDaddy.

I cannot recall where I Bought the domain name. I would not have knowingly bought from a re-seller - I thought there was a standard set of rules.
The latest update is they want a government issued Identity photo.

This seems to be a lot of work to renew (now transfer) a domain name.

It should be simple and quick to renew, it seems to just be when resellers are involved it all goes wrong.

It's one reason most people I know have moved all their domains to GoDaddy or 123-reg.co.uk, they send a renewal notice, you simply login and pay.

Sorry, don't think there's anything else I can say to help you out with this, you either have to gain login or move the domain. Hopefully your admin details are correct in which case it should ease the process.

Maybe we got lucky last time, different registrar, but a friend of mine phoned their old registrar and had the authorisations sent to the admin email address on file, that satisfied their requirement for proof of ownership.

Actually, Wild West Domains is GoDaddy, or more specifically, their reseller program. You might be able to get this resolved by contacting GoDaddy.com directly.

Thanks Wige. I just spent half an hour taking a picture with my old digital camera on the back lawn (just in case)

I do seem to get into awful lot trouble as soon as I step out of the selling fields.

Its the same form at Godaddy. I expect the same as I have had for the last 3o emails - a message detailing me how to log in. I shall try this more direct email approach

My Name is Patrick John Davis, Queensland Australia
I have attached 2 files - my drivers licence Queensland Austraia
you have my credit card on record the last four numbers are xxxx (I hid them just in case)
my Customer Number is: 8271781
my email address is paddy3@tpgi.com.au

you can email me and confirm this

as further proof if you visit sumpy Automotive directory you will find a message that says NEVER HOST WITH GODADDY

I would like to request that sumpy.com be unlocked so that I can move it, and that you email me to advise that this has been done

Call godaddy directly and speak to someone in customer service. I've had a few clients in similar situations to yours and godaddy was quick to resolve the problem.

I am in Australia
I did ask for a phone number that works, I got back a form type message that said, list your phone number and available times. They will ring me.
I sent my phone number back . They sent me an email saying the were unable to ring Australia - and to phone them

So I figured If I asked for a phone number that works again. . I would get the same answer again. .

Yes I expect a lot of techies have had requests for help help for a similar situation - go daddy's log in form is form is crap, It does not work. you spend time following instruction, deleting cookies, reconfiguring any security settings and then nothing works.
Do you leave your security settings the way Go daddy likes them. . Or do you get to choose your own?
Not that setting them the way Go daddy likes them helps you log in.

It seems it is always the customer that is doing something wrong... never the program, not built to do the job properly. We all have been programmed to say . . "OH dear, I did something wrong" when we press the wrong key.

I recall the first day I used a computer. My son called me an IDIOT, because I turned the computer off at the wall. "You do not turn them off like that. dickhead" There was no off button. I looked, I am an intelligent man.

The tradition continues. . crap design . . blame the user.. They do not realy Give a F#$%K

I have actually found godaddy to be quite helpful when I have called them. Their interfaces online can be challenging at times, I must agree. I went to your website and you seem to have taken this quite personally with a slogan, "
NEVER HOST WITH GODADDY

"

That's classic

Yes I shall place it where it will be seen by many thousand of users daily if this rubbish keeps going on.

the response to my last email is the same as the firsts response when I told them I could not log-in - dozens of emails ago

they say "Log in"

Dear Patrick John Davis,

Thank you for contacting Online Support. Unfortunately company policy prohibits employees from making these change within a customers account. If you wish to transfer the domain to a new registrar, you will also need to log in and request your authorization code.

Locking your domain prevents the domain name from being transferred to another registrar. You may lock or unlock your domain at any time.

To 'lock' or 'unlock' your domain name, follow the directions below:

This is just plain bloody stupid. . They simply will not accept that I cannot log in.

Yes mate, but you probably have a phone number that works, and you are not living in Outback Australia.

Their email help is totally useless. . .

Where I live I cannot get a phone connection to an ISP for more than a few seconds most of the time. I subscribe to two , TPGI and IINET - I have a satellite on my roof, and if the power supply is working and there is no rain or clouds about I get a good enough connection.

Mostly when I have a problem, people accept that I have a problem. They then set out to help.

GoDaddy, just could not give a F@#$K. They simply do not accept that I am unable to log in. This has cost me a lot of time. I want to waste my time doing what I want to do. Not throw my time down the drain where I get nothing for it.

What else do you get in life? . Time is all any of us have. . GoDaddy are just blowing my time away in the bloody breeze.

Well, I am not sure if this would be helpful to you, but they have a new thing here which works quite well. They call it Magic Jack. Its really cheap. If you need to call the US often enough its worth it, if not, obviously it doesn't help you. They say you have to ship it to somebody here in the US first, well, that is fine, I can do a solid for our friends down under.

(International Calling)
If I call someone on a magicJack overseas, do I need to dial the country or city code?
No, you would dial as you would normally from the United States.

(International Calling)
If I call back to the US or Canada from overseas, do I need to dial a country or city code?
No, you would dial as you would normally from the United States.

(Shipping)
Can I send a magicJack to a friend or relative overseas?
Yes, however you would have to send it to an address in the United States first, and then forward it from there.

(I have lots of advertising space where I place my recommendations)

I may not be able to hurt GoDaddy. . But I sure as hell can let people know they are hurting me..

some ford pages next -

I do not realy care if I become known as the Webmaster that hates godaddy.

CW1865, postal sytem here is spasmodic. I rarely if ever have need to ring the USA. .

I could probably simply forward the email with the new temporary password on. and get someone In the USA to log in and change the locked status.

But I have begun to get angry with Godaddy now. . I want to vent it. I am considering making the slogan part of my web sites signature. . . Why do they need to piss of a harmless old man trying to make a living on the Interrnert in the Australian Outback.

Does this mean I have to intall a new browser? I updated here
Microsoft Update
I did the things listed
Internet Explorer 6.x - Windows
Within IE, go to Tools Internet Options.
Click Delete Cookies.
Click OK.

I have norton 360

I went here
https://idp.securepaynet.net/login.a...omainren%2Easp
clicked on retrieve password
clicket reset password

This time I got a security alert saying revocation for the security for this site is not available. do you want to proceded.
yes - no - view certificate - the only one of the three that ressponds is view certificate.
the view statement option - leads me to here http://certificates.godaddy.com/repository
and another pop up certificate information
I click install certificate - work through the wizard - get a message saying the import was successful
and get back to the security alert saying revocation for the security for this site is not available.

clicking on yes or no or the X to get rid of the security alert does nothing - no clicks anywhere work.
I leave the computer and go and make a cup of tea.
