Does anyone have a phone number for thefxhosting.com .
They are hosting 10 sites for me and all are down for the last 8 hrs.

I have been working with them for the last 4 years and they have proved very reliable.

However I have had no reply to the many emails I have sent them today and I cannot get through to them on the phone. The phone number I have for them 416-913-9194 now appears to be out of service.

That looks like the correct number and yes last I heard that number wasn't working.

I know someone who used to have their sites hosted there but recently moved, I've pointed this thread out to them in case they have another contact number.

So much for a quite weekend.

UPDATE:

This host has been down now for over 24 hrs and no one from this hosting company has responded to my multiple emails.

I have now moved most of my sites to a new host.
Shame really as the service here were first class and I origionaly selected them as the company owner was a very active member of this fourm and proved to be very helpfull.

24 hours without a reply isn't good, but at least it sounds as if you're getting backup and running.

Aranman i will suggest you to do some homework before choosing a host. You should know all different ways to communicate with your host, uptime guarantee , their client database, how long they are into business etc.... So you will not face such problem in future.

Believe it or not thefxhosting came back on line 30hrs after it went down. Everything is back to normal, but
I still have had no reply from them to all the mails I sent. I also posted on their support fourm and there has been no reply there either.

Although most my sites are currently running I am looking for a new long term Irish based host that can offer multiple dedicated ips (seo purposes)

There seems to be plenty of them out there but getting reliable performance info is proving to be difficult. Seems like there is loads of infights and back stabbing on the bullitin boards, with threads being locked due to things getting out of hand.

Downtime is one thing, although 30 hours is a long time, but also not responding to clients with some sort of explanation is not acceptable in my opinion.

I don't consider SEO as a valid justification for multiple IPs. There was a thing Matt Cutts did a while ago that said it was basically a load of hot air unless you have thousands of sites, but each to their own.

Anyway you might be able to find something in the offers sections at Web Host Chat - The Web Hosting Forum or Shared Hosting Offers - Web Hosting Talk - The largest, most influential web hosting community on the Internet

I can't recommend a hosts based in Ireland as I've not used one. Really the best option is to ask friends and colleagues for recommendations.

You might also want to verify the location of the providers servers, if it's important to you, as some providers will host out of the US even though they are based in say the UK.

Just read Matts blog and it looks like the ip I get with a reseller account will dojust fine.
Key thing is location, the sites are Irish and my undersanding is I am better off with an Irish ip hosted in Ireland.

I've seen a .com on a US server rank on page 1 for google.co.uk when showing UK only sites. So I'd say IP location isn't everything. However all things being equal then hosting in the locality of your target market probably isn't a bad idea as the sites should be slightly faster if nothing else.
