Question Lunarpages Hosting

I currently host with Sectorlink. I have been having server speed issues, outages, support changes server settings without letting me know, etc...

I have a basic plan with Lunarpages and have liked their service so far. I would like to move my sites over to Lunarpages but do not want to do this until I hear some other recommendations.

Here are my server needs:

Number of sites to be hosted: 20 - 25
Total estimated bandwidth per month: 500GB - 1000GB
Total estimated server space: 100GB - 300GB

If you could please answer these questions for me, I would appreciate it:

1) Is Lunarpages a good, reliable company?
2) Is it worth getting a dedicated server for these requirements or will a virtual private server be ok?
3) Are there any other hosts out there that would fulfill my needs of server speed, less downtime, quick and friendly support?

Thanks!

Rich

After doing some more research this morning I have found that I have some more specific requirements:

1) Host must be in the U.S.
2) Host must have 24 hour telephone support (or at very least 24 hour e-mail/chat support)

Lunarpages is still looking OK, except I am having trouble getting a hold of their sales department which puts up a big red flag for me.

Support is definitely very important. If I had the choice of a supporting host with the bare minimum of what I needed, or a ignorant host with twice that, I would definitely choose the supporting host.

Well, personally I would stay away from these budget hosts, especially if you're actually going to use the 300G of disk space they promise.

What else do you need?
Are you a mysql power user?
control panel preference?
OS preference? (windows, linux)
anything else specific to your sites that you need?
budget?
