replace color technique in photoshop

In This Tutorial We'll Learn How To Replace The Color With The Color We Want To.
Instructions
Open The Image You Want To Replace Color Of. Then Go To Layer Option, Click On To Replace Color And Select The Color You Want To Replace By Clicking On The Color Onto The Image, Now Change The Hue And The Saturation Levels To Your Desire Value, Click OK And Afterward Erase The Extra Color By Using The History Brush Tool. Now Copy The Layer And See The Difference Of The Both Images.

OK I'm using Photoshop CS3 Extended...do you have an example for this? I couldn't find the menu item "Replace Color" in the layers menu.

If you are using CS3 please try below method for replacing image color:
Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation or press Ctrl-U to bring up the Hue/Saturation box and select proper color. You will find the result. Best of luck.
