Question How to add an events calendar to a website?

Hi all,

I hope someone out there can point me in the right direction.

I have a client that would like a calendar on their website that they are able to add and subtract events during the month for their customers to know what is happening. Does anyone know of any online calendars of this type that I could add into their website? They would want to do the updating on it. Or are there any other suggestions on ways to accomplish this?

Thanks so much!

You might want to look at Google calendar. I haven't used it myself, but I've seen some very nice examples of it being integrated into a website.

Yes, I looked at that option, however they were wanting one that could incorporate images, like what band would be playing, image of food specials etc...

I have found a few different ones on a web search, one of which seems workable. I was just hoping someone has had some experience using them to either recommend or not recommend one over another.

If your host does not support ASPX then you are limited to either classic ASP (which, if they don't do ASPX it is likely they don't do ASP) or JavaScript. I have found several calendar apps at the various free scripting sites, but seem to have a preference for HotScripts and ScriptSearch.

Are you on Unix or Windows?
Do you plan on installing it on the server yourself so it can remain on the domain?
If you want to install one then what scripting language would you rather work with?

Or are you looking for something automated that is external from the domain?

Most likely it would be something external.

Thank you all for the information!
