Default IE7 CSS Issue

It works fine showing the color and sizes in FireFox (Surprise Surprise) but it does not show what color and size in IE7. I am using this Contribution from oscommerce in DigiStore. Images as follows:

Hi Jzm,

Are the font colors in the css safe? Place a copy of your css file in here The W3C CSS Validation Service.

I can see that you are using color values that are not recognized.

Danny.

Can you perhaps supply a link to the live page rather than just those images? It's hard to tell from there what styles are being applied to that part of the page. I don't think it's to do with the colors as someone else suggested, they look fine to me. Perhaps more likely to be one of the many odd IE quirks that you could maybe create some sort of kludge for.

Just tested it and I think the problem might be with the Ecommerce system to be honest as I first tested it via IE7 and it added the items fine but with no options displaying. I then did it again with Firefox 3 and it added the items WITH the options and they displayed fine - even when I switched back to using IE7! So it seems that the issue isn't that IE isn't showing the item options but that it doesn't appear to be registering your choice OF the options. If you have Firefox get the IE plugin for it, add the items via Firefox then switch to IE with the plugin and you'll see them displaying fine - seems to be because they were added when using Firefox?

Check the forums for the ecommerce package to see if there are any known issues. I looked at the CSS code for the page that was properly displaying the options and there's nothing i can see that would cause any issues. I'm pretty sure the issue is that IE isn't properly registering the options choices instead.

Hope that helps!

Ahah! I think I might have it! Looked at the source and the options are outside of your main form - I wonder if FF is smart enough to pass them anyway but IE7 isn't? I thought it was a little odd that your main add to cart bit was at the top then teh options way down the bottom, not great for usability as many people might not even notice them but it looks like it might actually be impairing the functionality as well.

So try moving the options bit to the top BEFORE the item description alongside the Add To Cart button so that it's within the form tags and see if that helps.
