Do you have a solution where clients can login to a server to view files in their folder?
They are only able to see the files for their folder and not other folders.

It sounds like you are looking for a client that will limit the user to only their home directory and the subdirectories thereof, however, this is not something that should be handled client side. An FTP client will request any folder the user wants, and there is no way to force users to only use a specific client. It is up to the server to reject the request if the user is attempting to visit something outside of their home folder. This is usually set in the configuration file for your specific FTP server application. If it helps, many FTP servers follow a similar configuration setup to that of Apache.

Thanks Guys! Yes Wige this is exactly what I want to do. Basically I want to give each client a password protected folder or they could only see their folder based on their login name. I suppose I should call my host and set this up?

This would all be done through a web browser...kind of like an ftp...but simpler.
Like this: voicebank.net Or Online Viewing

Correct. I have set up systems similar to what you are trying to accomplish, but the steps involved vary by the software installed on the server and the type of hosting you have. The best place to advise you is your hosting company's technical support.

If you do it through the web browser then it would be best (simplest) to implement a .NET, PHP or similar server side solution that manages client logins, folders and files via a database. There's certainly something out there already that will do most of what you want.
For example, look through the offerings at: PHP File Management Script and Programs :: Hot Scripts |

Hmm..I see the crux of the discussion here.. But isn't it possible to use a conventional FTP client but limit its access privileges? Maybe a stripped down version of the client application providing access to the local folders for each user ?
