Glossy vs. plain

Hi,

I created a magazine cover using photoshop with some glossy effects in it. When i printed them i found that all the glossy looks are disappeared. It comes as a normal colour printed cover even in a glossy paper. Can I not achieve this glossy appearance in my cover. Please help me ..
