I use wordpress to manage my site. It's not really a blog, it's a list of recommended travel destinations. Each destination has it's own post with pics and info but no date displayed. I change the dates on the various posts to rearrange the order and keep things fresh.
I've decided I should add a normal blog to the site where I can linkbait and be more personal. I'd want it to display at the top of the sidebar and for only the most recent post to show. Any idea how to do something like this? thanks, juliemarg

Hi,
It is pretty straight forward. Just put the personal blog in a subdirectory. I would put a link to it in the top menu, or in the side bar. It would require some knowledge of php to get the recent posts of the second blog in the side bar of 1st blog. You would probably have to tweak a plugin like recent posts, to call posts from the blog in the subdirectory to dispay in the main blog. Main blog Where We Relax - Relax and Refresh with Us Secondary blog (this is a test blog for a friend, so I do not link to it from anywhere) this is in a subdirectory of we-relax Three Sisters » Art Gallery and Health Center - Clallam Bay Washington |

Hi Julie,
A few options... Start a new blog in a subdomain, or a subdirectory. Or put blog posts in a different category and travel destinations in a different category in the same Wordpress installation. all the best -k.s. |

Definatly Sub Domain.....or Domain Forwarding/Aliasing. That way you can keyword your domain name to the blog subject, always a plus.
But hosting is pretty cheap, if you have two blogs of similar substance generating from the same IP address one is likely to be frowned on by the Big G If you can afford it, I'd just rehost. I know you see all those MB sitting there wasted in the hosting plan |
