Red face Huge Problem with my Site www.DaveTheJerk.com Please help

K im a major noob to the whole web design field, i learned how to code in html back in high school, LOOOOONG time ago well only 5 years ago but i wasnt good then and not now apparently. Lotta stuff changed since then. Basically though i have a huge problem that ive been trying to fix with very little knowledge. This is like trying to build a house with only the experience of living in one.

Heres my problem:

http://www.DaveTheJerk.com

Theres the site, big problem is that it displays PERFECTLY in Mozilla FireFox, but in IE its got a HUGE gap of space. IM ripping out the hairs on my head googling this problem looking for a quick fix and this is my last resort. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance for your suggestions, help, flamming.

I dont even know if im posting in the right section if not please move my post admin/moderator.

I posted this in the Review section 40 views 0 responses, maybe i posted in the wrong section, no one moved it so i am moving it. Maybe i can get some help.

Maybe reducing the width of the DIVs "left_side" and "right_side" by a few pixels might solve the problem.

I think that this is a css bug in IE. As you use the "float" property in the style sheet to position stuff alot and that is well documented problem in IE. There are a few workarounds here..
Internet Explorer Float/Margin Bugs

One possible solution might be to add
display: inline;

into the elements that use the float property,

eg
Code:
.right_side {
float : right;
width : 202px;
background : inherit;
overflow : hidden;
display: inline;
}
That might fix it. It might not, but thats just one idea you could try and read other possible workarounds for the float bug in that link I put.

Anyone who wants to run a site but is -like me!-no good at all with html might like to look at Make Your Own Website It helps us people who want a good site but have no design skills and no money to hire them in.
