Default Wordpress Event Calendar problems

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post about Wordpress issues. My queries are going unanswered on the official WP forums -- if anyone can suggest a good message board for Wordpress discussions, I'd appreciate it.

Anyway...

I've been using Events Calendar 3 to list a client's upcoming music shows. Any blog post given the "event" tag is successfully listed in the "events calendar" and "upcoming events" widgets.

However, when visitors click on the event category link, the event posts get listed by the DATE I ENTERED THEM, not by the date of the shows. This is confusing to the visitor.

I basically want an index list of every upcoming show in chronological order. Is this possible? Maybe I should be using a different plug-in?

So are you trying to add events in the future before they happen in the calendar?

No. Sorry, let me clarify.

The calendar widget is good for showing visitors a handful of events at a time.

In my perfect scenario, there should be a way for visitors to see a list of every future event, listed in order.

Right now, I can get an archive directory, but the posts aren't listed the way I want. If I list a bunch of events for February, then January, then March, that's the order they're listed in the archive (instead of calendar order).

Sky Captain,
Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
I'm having the exact same problem and would be eternally greatful if you could pass on any solutions to our problem.
Huge thanks in advance,
E.

No, I never hit upon a good solution.

The website I was developing has been passed on to someone else, so solving the problem is less urgent than it used to be.

I'm still interested in finding an answer, though, for academic reasons.
