I am trying to figure out why a site, Southern Cross Safaris, is displaying odd on my computer. I have check from a net cafe, and have had friends check it and they all say it displays correctly. But on my computer the menu items and content body are shifted left.
I have tried it on IE 5.5, IE6, IE7, FF 2.0.0.8 and Opera 9. And it shows the same on all of them. I have tried flushing the cache and I have tried viewing from my local computer using the directory and also localhost. i know there are some CSS errors but that does not account for why it is correctly veiwable on other computers and not mine. Can anyone else look and see how it displays for them? Any suggestions on settings that might be different on mine? Thanks

I'm seeing some alignment issues using FF2.0.0.8. The menu is mis-aligned over the nav_bar.jpg image and the 2 DIV's below the navbar were also mis-aligned.
This was fixed by changing style.css line 321(#nav_bar) to "left: 250px;" Did the same "left: 250px;" for #left_col and #left_col2 and everything started lining up. Get Firebug [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843] for FireFox and it will let you actually find problem areas in your CSS and make instant adjustments. Way cool tool.

Yes, but how did that positioning work when you scaled your browser or used a different resolution??
I am happy to know that you saw it in a messed up view as well...

You'd find it easier to troubleshoot this stuff if you validated your code. There's an end div missing. The alt tags missing won't mess things up but they're easy to put in for your images.

Looks great to me in Firefox at 8:15 pm PDT. I'm running 1152 X 864 px with 32 bit quality.
Looks good both maximized and sized to fit. Does it help that I'm a Texan? |
