Default Does anyone use NetObjects Fusion?

Hi all.

I have been asked to take care of a website for a company and it was all created in NetObjects Fusion 8.

I have downloaded a trial copy of NeyObjects Fusion 10 but on looking further into the actual page it creates, these are just standard HTML.

My question is do I need this fancy software to create more pages or maintain the current ones or can I just use my normal coding editor? I may be getting confused with ColdFusion.

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks

I would never touch NetObjects Fusion. Stick on coding per hand.

You misinterpret what I'm asking John. My fault, maybe I never explained it properly

The site was created in NetObject-Fusion-whatever-its-called. My question is CAN pages that have been created using NOF be maintained by hand coding?

Thank God for that. Thanks man.

I haven't adhered to a visual editor since FrontPage. I learned my lesson then.

I've just had a thought: What about the Form functions on Net Objects?

Do they use a CGI/PHP function or does it create a page that depends on NOF for it to be uploaded (similar to FrontPage forms)?

Help!

I know that in their version 4.0 they provided one script in the form of a component, the Forms-Handler. The Forms-Handler was publishing a Perl5 CGI script to Windows, UNIX or Macintosh servers. But what is with the newer versions I have no idea. I do use such kindd of tools. Especially not tools that out-put HTML 4.01.

I guess this will be a bigger lesson than Front Page.

Why do you say that, John?

I have seen a site a friend of mine made with this software, and there was a lot on non-w3c tags and errors.

I used the version 7.0 years ago but only for some days, and I got rid of it. If it improved I cannot tell, as I never use WYISIWYG editors, as I rather code per hand to have a full control of what I am doing.

I was just shocked reading on their site that their newest version (10) creates HTML 4.01 instead of XHTML. That did not look progressive for me.

I would recommend you to try it out before buying.

That is the best tip I can provide you so far.

Well I don't want to use it if I can get away with it.

My main concern was the form function. But my initial dread was: because I heard the word 'Fusion' mentioned, I thought it was written in ColdFusion.

Having said that I have a Ford Fusion and theres no ColdFusion in that (thank God!).
