Default IE breaks CSS

I'm building a site using CSS for layout. In Safari, Firefox and Opera, it appears correctly, but not in IE. How can I find out how to make the tweaks that fix this problem?

Here is the URL:
http://www.signifydesign.com/ryw/index.html

and here is the link to the CSS file:
ryiStyles_01a.css

Thanks.

you've got an awful lots of div ids inside div ids there - banner home is unecessary take this out the css and it should work a bit better. (it does in IE7)

i agree with the other comment...way too many nested divs.

also, you can very easily ditch all that javascript and replace it with a list for the menu using transparencies.

check bonrouge.com for more on that.

also, you've got id's for all the divs, but then you have inline widths and heights...get those into the css.

try a 'strict' doctype as well....it's operating in 'quirks' mode right now.

hope that helps!
