Is there any website design software that works well? I know of yahoo's and nvu's. I'm looking for something close to free. ;)

I would steer away from Yahoo's - I just turned down a job on a site that was built with that ... too much extraneous code - more than Front Page even!

I would suggest you get a copy of the oldest Netscape Browser available - probably Communicator 4.7 - it has a built in WYSIWYG editor that works quite well and even has the ability to upload to a server.

Totally free. And very user friendly.

Then save your money for Dreamweaver.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

i do love dreamweaver, but all it does for me is keeps my sites organized.

if you learn to properly hand-code, you will never need the WYSIWYG help and your code will always be more efficient, plus, you will know how to fix things if they go wrong.

just my two cents.

It depends: are you looking at visual (WYSIWYG) or hand code.

If the 2nd option then try Virtual Mechanics SiteSpinner - Website Building Software I have had someone recommend SiteSpinner to me before.
