Couldn't find anything on webmaster certification using the search tool, and couldn't find a forum that seemed 100% appropriate for this query, but here goes:
I am undertaking to educate myself to do website administration for small businesses as a contractor. I know what I have to learn; my question is, how important is certification in getting contracts? What is your experience? If it's important, what certification provider do you recommend? Would like to hear from as many people as have time and the inclination to answer so I can extract some kind of consensus. If any :). |

I believe that "certification" is NOT important.
I have been a contract webmaster for 10.5 years and no one has EVER asked me about certification. They do ask about my portfolio. They do ask what I have done for other customers.
