Default Can somone recommend a good UK hosting company?

I used Streamline in the past (cheap, but no tech support), now I use fast2host and they're ok too, great tech support from a friendly guy called Steve. Problem is their website is a bit confusing, making it not as easy as I'd like to setup new accounts.

Does anyone have any UK based hosting companies they'd recommend? Also how easy is it change hosts and re-establish email?

Kind regards,

Joel Harper

I've recently changed my hosting package after the same problem (zero support) at GN Hosting.

Check out United Hosting their basic package is £60 per year but their support is killer.

I had trouble transferring a domain name across (due to the hosting company not co-operating) and United Hosting got involved and it got resolved quickly. They do offer to go the extra mile, which is a rarity in any hosting company.

Default Fasthosts

Joel,

I'd recommend Fasthosts. Also, if you're using a dot.co.uk domain there's no problem in using 1&1. They're cheaper and from experience 100% reliable.

Hi Joel,

I'd recommend http://www.dataflame.co.uk. I'm currently using one of their reseller accounts, which works out about £25 per month. Excellent support and quick to activate.

Regarding Fasthosts, just cancelled a dedicated server account with them as support/docs were horrendous and had nothing but problems for 2 months. Their shared hosting is not too bad, but if you end up on a server with another high traffic site, your site may get pretty s...l...o...w :-(
