I am a rank amateur
I have 2 websiteswww.wilberelectrical.comand www.wishmeamerrychristmas.com. If I e-mail the default page from either site, it loses the page top background image [which wipes the links bar on the one site] Anyone care to look at this and tell me what it would take to maintain the "background */swipe color" image on the email as it is rendered in the webpage? Eager to learn |

There is a lot of disparity in the way html email is displayed among the various clients/webmail services. A lot of them turn off all images by default. Even those which say they support html do not generally support all html as a browser would. In general though, you'll have a better chance of getting your html rendered if you use old html3.2 in emails. Clean code will work better because email clients/services may not be as forgiving as a browser for invalid code. A lot of webmasters will use a service like vertical-response, constant contact, or mail chimp for emails.
For some reason, the link bar you mentioned is in the head section of your code so it not only doesn't show in email, it doesn't show in all browsers either. So far as the email, it's probably a good thing because the relative links wouldn't work there anyway. Most likely, neither would the scripts. http://www.mailchimp.com/resources/t...mistakes.phtml |
