Default question about website

hello,

I have a question about the website of the company i work for. The website is www.businessforsale.com.au
My question is: wat happens if i take the first page away (index page) and make the second page the index page? will i drop in ranking (happend last time the webdesigner did it)? I want to take this page away because the second page (mainhomepage) has more explenation and more keywords

I hope anybody can help me.

Thanks in advance!!!

Lowie

I may be misunderatnding your question but if you delete the file that is now your home page/index page (let's call it index.html) and rename what used to be your second page to index.html, then as long as the links to the rest of your pages exist on the new index.html you shouldn't notice any difference.

(I'm assuming here that keywords and content are equivalent for the two pages.)
