Default Current Browser Statistics

This is the source I use for what I believe are the most reliable browser statistics:

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Scrolling down, as you can see 800x600 resolution usage is falling off the radar map fairly quickly. It should come in between 15%-17% currently, when posted for July 2006.

I am seriously considering dropping designing for 800x600 resolution all together for some kinds of sites.

Any comments?

Ken

We're doing the same thing. Of course, it depends on the site, and people at larger resolutions are more likely to not be browsing full-screen, but there's some more available real estate as far as I'm concerned. It's amazing what even another 20-50 pixels can do for you. The time has come - 1024x768 is the new 800x600. Finally.
