Is there any general discrepancy between how IE might show tables as to firefox.
I ask because I am designing a site using nested tables and have only been testing in firefox as I went, thinking that IE would show it fine anyway. But have just checked and IE shows the layout pretty messed up, whereas firefox is fine. I am probably just going to redesign the whole thing in css, but just before I do, I thought I would ask if there was something obvious that I may have done or not done that causes the tables to not display proeperly in IE.One thing I wondered, I have left some td widths blank so that the tables grow and shrink as per res, but could it be that IE needs all table widths declared in order to display correctly? For example is there some very common thing that IE displays or reads different from firefox? heres the url if anyone has a minute gadgetsgalaxy.com/shop/default.asp You will see in firefox its laid out ok, in IE not.

Oh my God! Now I have made it not work in firefox too. I knew I should have gone to church instead of working on a Sunday.

If I were you, I wouldn't even try to fix this as such. I'd try to rebuild it from scratch, one section at a time.
There's just too much going on to figure out any one specific problem. By rebuilding the sections, you'll be able to isolate which section is causing you grief and deal with it from there.

Thanks, yep, going back over it all would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Anyway looking on the bright side, i would like to do it all in css anyway after something I read recently, this is just the excuse I needed.
Thanks for taking a look Adam, I wanted to be sure it wasnt something obvious I was missing.
