Darren,
I have been a Corel user since CorelDraw first entered the scene. However, for my purposes and because I learned it first, Photoshop has always been my image editor/bitmap program of choice. For vector graphics, CorelDraw is hard to beat. It has a lot of functionality that many other vector applications lack. At the end of the day, assuming a given program has all the functionality you need, it all depends on what you're used to and whether or not you're willing to go through the learning curve of another application. I don't know how long ago you last experienced Corel's applications but I find them generally very reliable and very robust. It's certainly worth trying the trial version. Good Luck!

I've use PaintShop Pro for a while - ungrading each
time 7, 8, 9, and now 10 (under Corel). 9 and 10 are a little different than prior versions as far as how they look to the user. I'm pleased with the features. ~Roland
