Default Do we still worry about IE for MAC?

I recently stumbled upon this section of the Microsoft website which discusses their discontinuation of support for the Mac.

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/product...ternetexplorer

In particular, I found this section rather intriguing:

Additionally, as of January 31st, 2006, Internet Explorer for the Mac will no longer be available for download from Mactopia. It is recommended that Macintosh users migrate to more recent web browsing technologies such as Apple's Safari.
If, in Microsoft's own words, Mac users should upgrade to a non-IE browser, does that mean we should still have to worry about coding for it?

I would not code for IE for Mac, this browser will be absolutely out in some time. However it is a pity, since several sites display well only in IE Browsers, I had several cases where I had to switch from Safari to Firefox or IE in order to display a site properly.

Yea, I agree. With or without Microsoft's support, it is getting pretty hard to justify. IE mac must be below 1% by now.

The only case I'd consider it is when designing for a specific audience like schools where there may be a lot of old or poorly maintained macs.

I don't really pay any attention to IE Mac now.

Just as long as I code compliant XHTML with the usual IE hacks, it usually displays fine in IE Mac.
