I recently stumbled upon this section of the Microsoft website which discusses their discontinuation of support for the Mac.

I would not code for IE for Mac, this browser will be absolutely out in some time. However it is a pity, since several sites display well only in IE Browsers, I had several cases where I had to switch from Safari to Firefox or IE in order to display a site properly.

Yea, I agree. With or without Microsoft's support, it is getting pretty hard to justify. IE mac must be below 1% by now.
The only case I'd consider it is when designing for a specific audience like schools where there may be a lot of old or poorly maintained macs.

I don't really pay any attention to IE Mac now.
Just as long as I code compliant XHTML with the usual IE hacks, it usually displays fine in IE Mac.
