Default Newsletter software with HTML and CSS emails

Hi there.

We are now using Constant Contact for sending out our business newsletters. I create those with HTML and CSS myself and then paste them into their software and send it out as a HTML email (+ text version to be sure...) to all our members.

I am looking for other newsletter-sending-software with the option not to use templates but your own HTML/CSS. Just to compare. But it is hard to see how it works not being able to login to a test account...

Does anyone have a recomendation or experience with companies who offer this kind of software?

Regards,

Leonie

Hi Leonie

Try http://www.quickezine.com/. They do both a scipt called X2Newsletter Manager SE. A list of features can be found at http://www.quickezine.com/products/x2n/default.asp

I've used them for their job search script just recently. The support has been brilliant.

For what it's worth, I chose to go with IntelliContactPro instead of Constant Contact back in 2004 and I've yet to regret doing so.
I must admit I'm out of my depth when you mention CSS in creating a newsletter and then pasting it into "their software." But ICP includes a WYSIWYG page that allows you to switch to and fro with its HTML version. They also have a selection of templates, although I prefer to use my own design.
Moreover, their support is first rate and includes a Live Chat line.
Perhaps best of all as far as you're concerned, though, is a demo page that walks you through everything and then allows you to sign up for a trial run.
No, I'm not one of their affiliates (even though, like Constant Contact, they have them), but you might well find them worth a look. Their home page is at http://www.intellicontact.com/

Default free or paid?

If you want a free newsletter system that you use on your own server or hosting company server, the Dada mail is the best I've found. Easy to set up and use. Not quite as easy to insall properly, but from there on it is great. You can also purchase their Pro version which gives you extra playthings and support. There are no templates (at least in the version I have), you do your own html the way you want it, and you can set up as many lists as you want.

If you want a paid service that has incredible support try Your Mailing List Provider at http://www.yourmailinglistprovider.com/
It's so inexpensive that it's "almost free" and they handle bounces, mailbox full, etc. as well as sign ups. Lots of customization. If you choose them, tell 'em I sent you. I don't get money for referrals, just like them to know.

I used Dada for several years and it just got to be too much work with having to handle the bounceback e mails myself and waiting hours for my medium size list to be sent due to the much appreciated spam protection hourly sending limits set by my hosting company. I've been using YMLP for 3 months and love them.

I personally use Getresponse.com and have good experience with it. You can send HTML text and the system has professional features. There is a free version, but it can not send html.
